Why come to counselling?

Counselling and psychotherapy is a process to help people work through difficult life issues, which often underpin the suffering we experience. This suffering may be from a minor concern, or from something creating overwhelming distress, that can often be an impediment to our sense of growth and well being.

The aim of counselling and psychotherapy is to promote mental well being in a compassionate and empathetic environment guided by an intelligent approach that can make a long term difference.

In the short term, therapy can make a real difference but it also needs to address situations beyond the immediate. The things we struggle with often have a repetitive aspect, and we find issues arising frequently in different contexts and relationships.

What about Confidentiality?

Client confidentiality is a priority and will be respected within the boundaries of the client and others safety.

What kinds of issues can be addressed?

Counselling and psychotherapy, training and mentoring, can address a variety of issues including:

  • Stress and anxiety in your personal and/or work life.
  • Life and business/organisation management issues.
  • Lack of motivation personally or in your working environment.
  • Self respect and other respect issues.
  • Boundaries that are not sufficient or are being violated.
  • Personal organisational skills.
  • Motherhood issues may include tiredness, frustration, isolation and lack of self confidence.
  • Parenting problems often include difficulties with communication, relationship and role issues.
  • Fertility difficulties that are both stressful and taxing on you and on your relationship,
  • Relationship difficulties with family, friends and/or work colleagues.
  • Feelings of disillusionment, boredom and depression.
  • Grief from the loss of a loved one, job or relationship.
  • Difficulties in achieving personal goals.
  • Sexuality and its impact on your life and relationships.
  • Self esteem issues which affect our sense of self worth and your self confidence.
  • Lack of self awareness which inhibits your sense of wellbeing, peace and enjoyment.
  • Creativity that needs to be rediscovered and allowed to develop and grow.
  • Adolescent and children’s difficulties with school and home including communication and trust issues.
