| Why come to
counselling?
Counselling and psychotherapy is a process to help people work through difficult life issues, which often underpin the suffering we experience. This suffering may be from a minor concern, or from something creating overwhelming distress, that can often be an impediment to our sense of growth and well being.
The aim of counselling and psychotherapy is to promote mental well being in a compassionate and empathetic environment guided by an intelligent approach that can make a long term difference.
In the short term, therapy can make a real difference but it also needs to address situations beyond the immediate. The things we struggle with often have a repetitive aspect, and we find issues arising frequently in different contexts and relationships. |
